Killer confesses on Facebook

-

IT WAS a chilling Facebook confession that began with the words ‘‘I’m going to prison’’.

After shooting his wife dead in their South Miami townhouse, Derek Medina, 31, posted a photo of her bloodied body to the social networking site and explained to his online friends why he had to shoot her.

In one of two shocking posts made yesterday, Medina said that his wife, Jennifer Alfonso, had been punching him and he was ‘‘not going to stand anymore’’.

‘‘I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife,’’ the Facebook confession began, ‘‘love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me.’’

He then posted a photo of his wife on her back with bent knees and her head slumped against kitchen cabinets with the caption ‘‘Rip Jennifer Alfonso’’.

Her face and left arm were covered in blood and beneath the photo were comments from friends expressing their dumb- founded horror: ‘‘What happened???????’’

The posts remained online for four hours before Medina’s profile was removed entirely, the Miami New Times reported.

Soon after posting the photo and confession, Medina went to Miami police to tell authorities he had had a domestic dispute with his wife and then shot her, CBS reports.

The network reported that police found a 10-year-old girl in the South Miami townhouse but she was unharmed.

Just 24 hours before the shooting, Medina had posted happy snaps of the trio dining at a waterside restaurant and of him kissing his wife of one year.

Other posts on his Facebook page indicated that Medina was an actor who had appeared in Burn Notice but it appears he was only an extra in an episode of the US show that was filmed in 2009.

He also claimed to have written several bizarre self-help e-books, including one that featured in his profile picture called World Just Ask Yourself Why We Are Living a Life Full of Lies and How I an Emotional Writer Made All of My Professional Dreams Come True Blocking Society’s Teachings.
