GADGET: Samsung is releasing a new tablet in New Zealand in August. The Galaxy Tab S2 is the company’s new flagship tablet and it’s their thinnest and lightest. It has a metal frame and 9.7-inch screen, is 5.6mm thin and weighs 389g. The Tab S2 is available in black, white and gold and will cost $799 (wi-fi) or $899 (wi-fi + mobile) when it goes on sale on August 7. APP: With Star Chart you can point your phone at the sky and bring up illustrated versions of the constellations around you, which you can tap for basic information. There are also in-app purchases you can make to enhance its function and more deeply explore the planets. There are a lot of star map apps out there that give you more, or perhaps more comprehensive, options but Star Chart is free to download and more than covers the basics. Free, for iOS and Android devices. WEBSITE: This is a great website for movie fans who love quoting from their favourite movie or correcting others who misquote. The site, quodb.com, is easy to use but very powerful. Type in a famous movie phrase and it will not only show you what movie it appeared in but also who said it and the exact time in the movie it is spoken. As a bonus, it also shows you when it was used in other movies. APP: The aim of Slim’s weight tracking app is to help you not only with daily tracking, but also with small game features like reminders and in-app rewards for meeting goals. The app also supports Touch ID at login to ensure your data is kept private. Apple Health integration allows you to automatically sync your weight from wi-fi-enabled scales. Slim is iOS only and costs $1.29.
