Berhampore villa sells well above RV
ABERHAMPORE HOME has sold for more than $100,000 above its rateable value of $380,000. The two-bedroom villa, 9 Milton St, was on a 197-squaremetre section with a one-bedroom sleep-out.
‘‘It was the kind of compact, standalone house that had real appeal to singles, busy couples, or an older couple looking for a smaller easy-care home,’’ Paul Dickason, of Professionals Wellington City & Suburbs, says.
‘‘It had been stylishly renovated and afforded easy access to the city, Island Bay and Newtown.’’
The 60sqm dwelling included a new kitchen and bathroom, two double bedrooms, comfortable lounge, and kitchen/dining room that opened to a sunny courtyard.
‘‘At the rear of the section was a cute double bedroom-sized sleepout with running hot and cold water,’’ Dickason says. A KINGSTON HOME with a rateable value of $410,000 has been auctioned for $495,000.
The three-bedroom character house, at 73 Montreal Grove, was on a 1636sqm section, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, with a private backyard and covered barbecueentertainment area.

‘‘It was an exceptional result with multiple bidders obviously seeing the value of the improvements and the outlook that this property offered.’’ A STRATHMORE HOME has been auctioned for $159,000 above its rateable value. The sunny, private property, at 68 Beacon Hill Rd, had an RV of $510,000 and went under the hammer for $669,000.

The four-bedroom, 140sqm house was on a 983sqm section with a double garage, tranquil garden and expansive views. A LARGE SILVERSTREAM home with four-to-five bedrooms in a sunny, bush setting has been auctioned for $595,000.
The 395sqm multi-storey house, at 68B Chatsworth Rd, dated to the 1970s but was double glazed and fully insulated,

The three-bedroom property, at 16 Oakleigh St, had a rateable value of $375,000.
