Ring launched Ring Video Doorbell three years ago and its latest product is a bright idea for home security. It features an HD (1080p) video camera, cloud recording, speaker, a 100dB siren, 270-degree motion detection, smart LED lights and IR (night vision). Now, with Floodlight Cam, users can take a proactive approach to home security and always know what’s going on around their home, giving the impression they are there, even when they’re not. Homeowners get a push notification on their mobile devices when Floodlight Cam detects movement and turns on, but the HD video camera also begins recording and users can see and speak to whoever is on their property. Floodlight Cam is easy to install and can be powered using a home’s existing floodlight wiring. Motion does not need to be detected to turn on the floodlight or video feed; users can tap into the live stream and turn on the light at any time, or they can set a schedule for the light to turn on and off automatically. Ring Video Doorbell is available from Mega Mitre 10 and Floodlight Cam can be pre-ordered from ring.com and will be shipped in April. $429.
