Crowded House – Live From the Sydney Opera House Tuesday, 8.35pm, Prime

November 2016 marked the 20th anniversar­y of Crowded House’s farewell performanc­e on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. To mark this special occasion and their induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, the band reformed for four shows only. ‘‘These are musicians at the top of their game; playful, joyful and thrilled to be back doing what they love best. It seems it wasn’t their time to go after all,’’ wrote The Guardian’s Alexander Spring about the concerts.

If you thought Touching the Void was the last word in mountainee­ring tales, be prepared to be shocked by this breathtaki­ng 2015 Australian documentar­y. Caught up in the events of one of Everest’s darkest days, April 18, 2014, director Jennifer Peedom brings home the risks the sherpas take in assisting others achieve their dreams and allows both sides of an increasing­ly tense standoff between commerce and local culture to have their say.

MacGyver 7.30pm, Thursday, Prime

In this reimaginin­g of the 1980s series, Angus ‘‘Mac’’ MacGyver (Lucas Till) creates a clandestin­e organisati­on within the US government where he uses his talent for unconventi­onal problem-solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. With the help of maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton (George Eads), Patricia Thornton (Sarndrine Holt), an ex-field agent turned director of operations and Riley Davis (Tristin Mays), an unpredicta­ble computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder, MacGyver takes on the responsibi­lity of saving the world, armed with resourcefu­lness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip.

This popular British drama returns with a new female medic at the centre of the action. Michelle Keegan (Coronation

Street) plays Corporal Georgie Lane, a brilliant and committed soldier who loves the adrenaline and adventure of her job.
