Glorious views, great lifestyle

-

EVEN THIS summer’s rowdiest nor’wester won’t stop you having fun around the swimming pool centrepiece of a home for sale in Paremata.

The four-bedroom house, at 66 Seaview Rd, was designed by Fritz Eisenhofer to maximise its stunning views across the Pauatahanui Inlet and year-round indoor-outdoor living.

Hence, the extraordinarily sheltered internal courtyard with a solar heated pool and kwila decking, around which the living/ dining areas, kitchen and a games room are configured.

Built in the 1970s, the 470-square metre recreational oasis also includes a dedicated home theatre and internal garaging for four cars.

It spans an 848sqm hillside section that descends through native bush to a double-boatshed with a large deck and a onebedroom apartment with a new kitchen and a sunroom.

The three-level dwelling, which has a plaster and cedar exterior with an iron roof, also has potential to add even more value because of undeveloped maid’s quarters that were part of the original design.

The front door opens into an entrance that steps down to the open-air poolside courtyard and adjoining stage, lounge, games room, entertainers’ kitchen, family area and formal dining room.

The kitchen includes a Electrolux Pyrolytic self-cleaning oven, an island with an induction hob, Asko dishwasher, and refrigerator-freezer with ice-maker.

The family area and dining room open to a wraparound deck while a feature window view of the inlet distinguishes the staircase leading to three of the bedrooms.

The main bedroom has a balcony, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite with a wet room shower, bath, dual-basin vanity and separate toilet; the other bedrooms, one of which opens to a balcony, share a bathroom.

A fourth bedroom is on the bottom level, along with the home theatre with its audio wiring and built-in surround speakers.

Other features include a central heating system that can be adjusted for the different floors, Cat5 cabling throughout, a separate laundry, a separate toilet and a covered clothesline.

Jason Clark, of Clark & Co Realty, says 66 Seaview Rd has the grandstand position on Paremata’s sought-after and tightly held ridgeline.

‘‘Not only are the views as good as they get but this is the ultimate home for the family that lives together and plays together.

‘‘The boatshed’s another bonus, especially with an apartment that can be used for home-and-income or working from home.’’

The property has a rateable value of $1.5 million and a deadline closing date of November 16. Photos: JOHN NICHOLSON/STUFF
