Based on the short stories by G K Chesterton, Mark Williams (the Harry Potter film franchise) returns as Kembleford’s inimitable, crime-solving priest. This sixth series sees him investigat­ing a local bowls match, which quickly rolls out of control. There’s also a fatal school fete and a Soviet spy to contend with.

Paddington Station 24/7 7.30pm, Thursday, Prime

Now in its second season in the UK, this eight-part documentar­y series goes behind the scenes at one of Britain’s busiest train stations. This first episode looks out a big day for staff on the Western Network as 20,000 football fans who have travelled in from Italy and Spain head from Paddington to Cardiff for the 2017 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus.

New Girl 2pm, Saturday, Three

Zooey Deschanel and company return for the seventh and final season of this US sitcom that takes a modern look at friendship and romance. In this week’s premiere, it has been three years since we last left our heroes and Jess (Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) have just returned from a European book tour for The Pepperwood Chronicles.

Meanwhile, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone) celebrate their daughter Ruth’s birthday with a party, where Jess runs into one of her exes.

The Lovely Bones 8.50pm, Saturday, Three

Peter Jackson brings to life Alice Sebold’s best-selling novel about a murdered 14-year-old girl’s attempts to watch over the rest of her family. Mark Wahlberg, Saoirse Ronan, Rachel Weisz and Stanley Tucci head an impressive cast in this 2009 thriller. ‘‘A sad-but-hopeful, dramatic-but-gentle fairytale,’’ wrote Entertainm­ent Weekly‘s Lisa Schwarzbau­m.

Still Open All Hours 7.30pm, Sunday, Jones!

Season 4 of this sequel series to the much-loved British sitcom Open All Hours, sees Granville (David Jason) trying to increase business at Arkwrights by offering fitness classes, while trying to win the affections of Madge (Brigit Forsyth) and help Gastric (Tim Healy) find love.

All-Star Family Feud 7.30pm, Monday, Three

Mediaworks’ two comedy giants have gone head-to-head twice before on the Dai Henwood-hosted game show. With both having tasted victory and defeat, this one is being billed as the ultimate decider. Jono and Ben will be joined by Guy Williams and Laura Daniel as they play for Lifeline Aotearoa, while the 7 Days team consists of Jeremy Corbett, Ben Hurley, Paul Ego and Urzila Carlson, who will play for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ.
