Newspaper cuts proposed
Stuff Ltd has proposed a restructuring of its Auckland and Northland community newspapers. Stuff, publisher of the Stuff website, owns 13 titles across the region. Under the proposal, reporters would be replaced by a smaller group of senior staff covering wider Auckland and Northland. Editor-in-chief of newsrooms Bernadette Courtney said the papers would ramp up lifestyle, opinion and entertainment content from existing Stuff newsrooms, as well as user-generated content. She said the company was unable to comment further as it was seeking feedback from staff.
