ASEATOUN cottage for sale for the first time in nearly 25 years has been auctioned for $330,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 211 Marine Pde, had a rateable value of $530,000 when it sold for $860,000 (the new rateable value is $770,000).
Tamaris Livera and Steve Fejos, of Harcourts, say the stylish 70-square metre dwelling combined views of the harbour and the Orongorongo range with a charming exterior and tastefully renovated interior.
‘‘It was over the road from Worser Bay beach and had openplan dining and a modern kitchen, a cosy lounge with a fireplace, and a spacious bathroom,’’ Fejos says.
The two-bedroom cottage dated to the 1920s and was on a 397sqm section with a lock-up garage.

A MODERN family home in Vogeltown has been auctioned for $220,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 38A Pearce St, had a rateable value of $530,000 when it sold for $750,000 (the new rateable value is $770,00).

The property, at 16 Musket Lane, was marketed ‘‘as is, where is’’, with a rateable value of $580,000, and last changed hands in 1994.

The four-bedroom was built in the 1990s on a 1162sqm section close to amenities and transport links.
‘‘There were plenty of options for an astute buyer or investor,’’ Faulke says.

The 525sqm property, at 87A John Burke Dr, had a land value of $200,000.

The property, at 1B Reeves St, had a rateable value of $370,000 and sold for $395,000.
Built in the 1970s, the twobedroom chalet-style home had a half share in an 854sqm section close to the beach.
