15 mins of fame

-

This summer, The Dominion Post hit the streets to ask people a series of random questions for our 15 minutes of fame project: anything from where’s your favourite place for coffee, to what you think of Donald Trump. Today, we hear from Christine Westbury ,a Wellington mum who runs bliss ball mix company Clean Mixes.

How would you like to die? Quickly.

Where’s the best coffee in your region?

I’m a big tea drinker and love to drink both Wellington teas: Libertine Blends and Ritual Tea Company. La Cloche Petite is a lovely place to stop in for tea!

Your favourite three-course meal?

For starters, natural Bluff oysters or any seafood. Main: medium rare grass-fed eye fillet steak, saute´ed greens and fresh chimichurri with a side of fries. Dessert: A refined sugar free, dairy free, gluten free chocolate dessert or tart (or Clean Mixes treats, of course!).

Would you want to be a mayor or MP – where and why?

Be an MP in Wellington because New Zealand is a great place to live and should be kept that way. If you retrained for a different career – to what and why?

I love what I’m doing but perhaps a fitness professional with the objective to create a community and platform to help others learn, come together and improve.

Who would you invite – dead or alive – for a private dinner?

I don’t love McDonald’s food but the McDonald’s business story is iconic so I’d invite Ray Kroc. Ray showed the persistence and self-belief required as a founder to scale and build a brand.

NZ food prices – fairly reflecting our small country or a rort?

The cost to produce good quality food in New Zealand is too high. I know this first-hand with producing Clean Mixes. It would be wonderful to see food prices reduced, particularly on fresh wholefood – it can only benefit the health system.

You have the power to change one thing about the world. What is it?

That all people, particularly families, have access to good quality wholefood, vegetables and water.

Is it time to ban Guy Fawkes and fireworks? Yes, it’s time to ban for public purchase. Unfortunately, every year there are still unnecessary accidents and fires. Once banned, I don’t think fireworks will be missed.

What’s the best thing that’s happened today?

Waking up to my little family and a new day.
