composure and didn’t give away any dumb penalties. Coles was only given the first half of the game before being replaced. 6

Joe Moody: Came under intense pressure from Frans Malherbe at the scrums, but managed to do a good job to stay on his feet and not let it collapse. Defensively, he put in some average tackles in the line which allowed South Africa to get momentum. 6 Reserves:

Codie Taylor: Came on at the start of the second half and All Blacks lineout didn’t go as well when he was on and eventually threw to the front most of the time. 6

Ofa Tu’ungafasi: Came on for the last half hour and made a real impact, especially with his tackling. However, the All Blacks scrum was getting monstered over the final 10 minutes. 6

Angus Ta’avao: Was given 30 minutes to shine. Some nice stuff, but wasn’t as strong in the scrum as the starting props. 6 Patrick Tuipulotu: Came on at halftime for Sam Cane and tackled well. Never really got going on attack. 7

Shannon Frizell: Only got to play the last five minutes. N/A TJ Perenara: Got a run for the last 20 minutes and was able to keep the intensity up. Once again showed what a smart player he is and is a good one-two punch with Aaron Smith as halfback. 8 Sonny Bill Williams: Came on early in the second half looking to give some x-factor to the All Blacks backline. He threw a wonderful cut out pass in the 64th minute that had the Springboks defence scrambling. 8

Ben Smith: Played the last 14 minutes of the game at fullback and had a steady night. 7.
