Comedy show fans exposed to measles

People at the Dylan Moran comedy show in Wellington on Saturday night may have been exposed to measles.

And if you went to a Johnsonvil­le gym or several city supermarke­ts last week, you may also be at risk.

A public health alert has been issued after two more confirmed cases of measles in the capital.

Regional Public Health has warned the public to be on alert after a person with measles attended the Dylan Moran show at the Michael Fowler Centre before they were diagnosed.

The person did not know they had the virus.

Anyone who was not fully vaccinated, or had been diagnosed with measles in the past has been told that they may be at risk of contractin­g the virus.

People who attended the comedy show have been told to look out for symptoms from October 19-26 and to be aware that a rash may not appear in the first instance.

Dr Craig Thornley said people who were at the following locations should find out if they were protected from measles.

October 7: City Fitness, Johnsonvil­le between 6am-8.30am.

October 8: City Fitness, Johnsonvil­le from 6am-8.30am and Neo Cafe and Eatery, Wellington. between 9am-4.30pm, Sprig and Fern Tavern, Petone between 7pm-10.15pm.

October 9: City Fitness, Johnsonvil­le 6am8.30am, Neo Cafe and Eatery 7am-4.30pm, New World Thorndon 4.30pm-6pm.

October 10: City Fitness, Johnsonvil­le 6am8.30am, Neo Cafe and Eatery, 7am-1pm, New World Thorndon 4.30pm-6pm, Wellington Hospital Emergency Dept 3.30pm-10pm.

October 11: City Fitness, Johnsonvil­le 6am8.30am, New World Chaffers, Wellington between 1pm-6pm.

October 12: City Fitness Thorndon 8.30am10am, Michael Fowler Centre (Dylan Moran show) 7pm-11pm.
