Wrecked vehicles cram bridge after accident

-

Dozens of vehicles crashed into each other yesterday on an icy interstate highway bridge over the Yellowstone River outside Billings, Montana, making the span appear like a wrecking yard with mashed cars and trucks. The pileup involved about 30 vehicles, the Montana Highway Patrol said on Twitter. No fatalities were reported but two people were injured, the highway patrol said.

Where to stay: If camping isn’t your style, Split Apple Retreat just a short drive away is a luxury option for the wellness-minded.

What to eat: Besides fish and chips on the beach, nothing beats a real fruit icecream from Motueka’s Toad Hall on the drive back to Nelson.

Where to swim: You can spend your day beach hopping between Kaiteri, Little Kaiteri and Breakers Bay. For something a bit more secluded, it’s got to be Dummy Bay.

What to do: Head to the back of the campground and follow Withell’s walk to the top of the hill for the best view of Kaiteri and across the bay to Nelson. Kayaking around the corner to Split Apple Rock is a must, too.
