Hit legal play coming

-

Susie Miller’s hit legal play Prima Facie is coming to Carterton Events Centre supported by one of Wairarapa’s most prominent law firms.

Prima Facie has been a huge hit all over the world and the New Zealand production, starring award-winning actress Mel Dodge and directed by Lyndee Jane Rutherford, is no exception.

It is now on tour across the country fresh from a sold-out season at Wellington’s Circa Theatre and will be in Carterton later this month.

Prima Facie is the story of a criminal defence lawyer who finds herself at the mercy of the very system she dedicated her life to.

The tour, produced by Kavanah Productions, will headline major festivals, as well as a run at Centrepoint Theatre in Palmerston North, and a return season at Circa Theatre.

Carterton Events Centre team leader Erin Banks said her team were delighted to be working with legal firm Gawith Burridge to bring such an important work to Wairarapa.

“Prima Facie is a one-woman masterpiece. It aims to shift perspectives and question what's black and white in the eyes of justice.

“We are so grateful to law firm Gawith Burridge who are keen to support the arts in Wairarapa, making it possible for us to bring top quality work to our region.”

Prima Facie will perform at the Carterton Events Centre on Friday, April 26. Tickets via the Events Centre box office and website www.cartertonec.co.nz
