Mind-blowing views

-

Sisters Charlotte and Lucy Tucker came to Christchurch for Christmas this year. They’ll be in the city for another couple of days but on Christmas Eve their parents brought them to see what remains of Christ Church Cathedral.

Charlotte, 10, said it looked ‘‘kind of munted’’.

Mumand dad agreed: ‘‘It’s hard to get your bearings. We’ve been into the pop-up mall a few times but this is the first time we’ve come to The Square. You think you know what should be round the corner but it’s just a gap and you’ve got no idea what’s missing.

‘‘You see the cathedral and it starts to make sense but then you look across and nothing makes sense. But it’s nice to be down here catching up with the cuzzies. We’ll go to the beach and Spencer Park. The kids can play and the dads thought they might use any excuse to go for a mountainbike ride.’’
