Bush Sr on mend

Former United States President George H W Bush spent Christmas in a Texas hospital after developing a fever and weakness following amonth-long, bronchitis-like cough, his spokesman said yesterday. He said the cough, which initially brought Bush to the hospital on November 23, and the fever appeared to be under control, although doctors were still working to get the right balance in Bush’s medications. No discharge date had been set.
