Store lambs rose $4 to $5 a head at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultur­al Park in Christchur­ch, this week.

Prices were much the same as last week for prime lambs, with top lambs making $100 to $117.

Prime steers made 190c/kg to 205c with sales to 216c.

Prime lambs

Values: In a smaller yarding of prime lambs, prices were similar to last week’s sale. Top lambs made $110 to $117, medium $93 to $105 and lighter $70 to $85. Values: Prices for good-quality cattle were firm against the last sale but lesser-quality cattle struggled to hold their value. Steers made 190c/kg to 205c with sales to 216c, heifers 185c to 200c with sales to 205c, cows 136c to 145c and bulls 161c to 206c.
