Obama’s policies

The sun sure has been extinguished (in Sumner) with the arrival of Larry Detrich from the United States (Dec 20). For he brings with him that spiteful element of American politics which is so exemplified by Fox News and the quite mad Tea Party ultra-conservatives who recently closed down their own government.

Just to put the record straight, many millions of Americans welcome the common sense proposals contained within the Affordable Health Care Policy (commonly known as Obamacare).

As for the rest of Larry’s diatribe, the points he made are straight from the Tea Party book . A thorough reading of The

Press and viewing of many other news outlets show that New Zealanders are very fortunate in having up to date information from the United States on all topics.

That includes President Obama, his policies and the response to those policies from all and sundry. MURRAY DUNLOP
