Government’s $3m plan to deter folks from littering
Environment Minister Nick Smith has announced a $3m plan to deter people from littering. The money would pay for a public behavioural change campaign, the development of education materials for the campaign, and a national litter survey to ‘‘help ensure we keep New Zealand beautiful’’, he said. The ‘Do the Right Thing’ initiative will be funded through a grant to Keep New Zealand Beautiful from the Ministry of the Environment’s Waste Minimisation Fund.
