Super fund payments first priority, says Andrew Little

The ‘‘Cullen’’ superannuation fund will see an immediate $500 million injection if Labour wins power. The pledge by leader Andrew Little opens the prospect of a postelection mini-Budget to approve the extra payment and put in place other urgent plans. The party will today release its fiscal plan, outlining its tax and spending policies. Little said the quick resumption of payments to the Cullen Fund – four years before National’s timetable – would see more than $3.5 billion extra in the kitty.
