What right does Winston Peters have to include in his list of election ‘‘bottom lines’’ that Christ Church Cathedral be rebuilt? I wasn’t planning on voting for his party but this seems like a step too far and leaves me flabbergasted that even our own homegrown megalomaniac could come up with such a demand. Vic Smith Halswell

Should readers wish to drink safely from a river with pristine water, they only need to drive as far south as the Rakaia or as far north as the Waimak (but stay upstream of SH1 as urban pollution sets in further down).
