Pierce retires

Paul Pierce is retiring from the Boston Celtics. The Celtics yesterday announced they have signed Pierce to a contract so the 10-time All-Star can retire with the team where he spent his first 15 seasons. The 39-year-old Pierce retires atop the franchise’s lists in three-point field goals (1823), free throws (6434) and steals (1583).
