Labour MP camps in cold to support homeless women
Labour’s Dunedin South MP Clare Curran is camping out in the Octagon in Dunedin to protest against the Ministry of Social Development’s treatment of two homeless mothers. Curran has been sleeping rough since Sunday in support of Amy Stuart and Kylie Taggart, who have been refused housing. A ministry spokesperson said there had been incidents around bad behaviour that had led to motels refusing to take the women, one of whom has a 3-yearold child.
