Standing up for health care
Kudos to senior medical staff in Canterbury for standing up to the Government in their drive to deprive Canterbury of muchneeded medical funding.
I feel angry with the attempt by Treasury bullies to undermine our medical workers already stretched to the limit by decreased funding. It seems that Prime Minister Bill English has not learnt from the deaths exposed in the enquiry he himself set up after the 1990 ‘‘health reforms.’’
We deserve better from our elected officials, who are voted in to work on behalf of all of us in our communities. I’m pleased an election is on the horizon. Paddy Brocherie Clifton
