Heatpump versus logfire
My heatpump has now been repaired after waiting six weeks for the shipping of a small part.
The sellers of the pump are a prominent Christchurch firm, and the pump a leading brand. The makers have agreed to fix it under warranty.
I am 79 years old and, had I possessed no other form of heating, I would have been in trouble. Fortunately, I also have a logfire.
How can we justify installing heatpumps if a breakdown makes them inoperable for half a winter?
My advice to anybody whose logfire is approaching its 15-year replacement date is get another one installed. Do not replace it with a heatpump.
