Weather hits sport
Wet weather in Canterbury forced the cancellation of most lower grade sport and also the opening round of Woodward and Pollock Cups premier golf interclub men’s and women’s competition. It is hoped the rounds can be played later in the season. Mainland Premier League football matches were being shifted to the artificial turf at English Park with Coastal Spirit meeting Nomads at noon and FC Twenty against Universities at 2pm. The feature clash between Cashmere Technical and Ferrymead Bays remained at Garrick Park at 2.45pm with a decision today if it will be shifted to English Park at 4pm.
