‘Deputy prime minister? I don’t mind,’ says Ardern


She might be deputy leader of the Labour Party, but Jacinda Ardern is quite clear that she would be happy not being deputy Prime Minister of a Labour-led government, a definite possibilit­y give their need for coalition partners. ‘‘I don’t really care about my relative status,’’ Ardern told The Nation, stressing that what she really wanted was a change in government. Andrew Little, on the other hand, told us it would be his preference, as the two ‘‘worked really well together.’’
