On-again, off-again Johnson surprisingly media shy

Was it a fit of pique by UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson or his press secretary, Simon McGee? Late yesterday, the media were set to follow the tousle-headed one to a reception with the RSA. But on arrival they were told it had morphed into a media ‘‘stand up’’. Then that was dumped too because his boss had had enough media contact for the day (actually less than a handful of questions in Kaikoura) – with the implication so much access would not go down so well back in London.
