Sir Mark Solomon sidelined as Canterbury DHB chair

Respected iwi leader, Sir Mark Solomon, has been sidelined as chair of the Canterbury District Health Board. Solomon has been acting in the role following the resignation of the former chair, but Health Minister Jonathan Coleman yesterday announced John Wood as the new chairman. Solomon will remain on the board as Wood’s deputy. Wood is a career diplomat and former principal trade negotiator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He’s also chief Crown negotiator for two Treaty claims.
