I disagree with your headline (August 9). Kennedy Graham and David Clendon are not rebels at all. They are principled men of integrity making a stand against double standards. Personal convictions do not necessarily make a person rebellious. Rosemary Price Hanmer Springs

Lack of knowledge

The root cause of hallucinations is psychosis (often a symptom of schizophrenia). Richard Jones’s suggestion (August 9) that psychotic individuals should not be treated with medication highlights a lack of knowledge of mental disorders. Jackie Selway Papanui

It is astonishing that Ms Turei continues to be oblivious to the view her apparent frauds and subsequent behaviour make imperative her resignation not just from the Green hierarchy, but also from parliament. Condoning the behaviour does little for Shaw’s credibility. Colin Notley Burnside
