A pen of poll dorset ewes reached $199 a head at livestock sales at Coalgate last week.

The ewe market was steady from previous weeks and lighter ewes made $75-$85.

Values were the same as last week for the prime lamb yarding with top lambs at $160-$175.

The lightest lambs made $120-$130.

Top store lambs reached $100-$120 in a stronger market.

Prime steers made $2.72/kg-$2.96 in a small cattle yarding with prices similar to last week.

Prime lambs

Values: Lamb prices were similar to previous weeks.

Tops made $160 - $175, good $140 - $160, medium $130 - $140 and light $120 - $130.

Values: A small winter yarding of prime cattle met with prices on par with previous weeks.

Steers made $2.72/kg - $2.96, heifers $2.60 - $2.78, cows $1.94 $2.04 and bulls $2.60 - $2.86.
