COALGATE STOCK SALE

Heavy lambs softened by $3-$5 a head at livestock sales at Coalgate last week.

Top prime lambs made $175-$185 and other lambs remained the same as the previous week.

Prime lambs

Values: Heavy lambs eased by $3 to $5 per head with other lambs mostly remaining the same. Tops made $175-$190, good $150-$170, medium $130-$150 and light $125-$130.

Prime ewes

Values: The market remained strong for a medium yarding of ewes. Tops made $145-$160, good $130-$145, medium $100-$120 and light $80-$100.

Values: In a smaller yarding tops made $110-$130, good $90-$100 and medium $80-$90.

Sales included: Scotswood (Windwhistle) 431 lambs at $93-$106, Wither Hill (Blenheim) 169 lms at $83-$102, PA Woods (Lethfield) 52 es with 79 lms at foot at $106.

Prime cattle

Values: Steers made $2.85/kg$3.09, heifers $2.62-$2.93, cows $1.75-$1.94 and bulls $2.20-$2.75.
