Campaign to return home The Dukes of Sandwich is appealing to its fans for financial support to return to Christchur­ch in January. The organic gourmet sandwich food truck launched in the city in 2013. Dukes team Laura Sisson and Rob Gilbert amassed a dedicated following before shifting to Wellington to be closer to family about a year ago. They’ve launched a Pledge Me campaign for funds to get them back to Christchur­ch for The World Buskers Festival as well as other summer events. ‘‘We miss Christchur­ch so much and we really want to feed the city again,’’ Sisson says.

New adventure for Pot Sticker team

The creators of Pot Sticker Dumpling Bar, Sam and Sally Hooper have sold their ‘‘first baby’’ to free up some funds for their latest project. The couple, who most recently opened Sister Kong bao bar, handed over the reins of 144 Lichfield St, to local Jason Dodd. This week they’re overseas researchin­g a trendy new cuisine for their newest venture. Details are still under wraps, but they promise a full announceme­nt next month.

This Saturday the South Island Beer Festival is in town. More than 30 craft breweries will be pulling handles of cold, foamy goodness among the parkland grounds of Ilam Homestead. Tickets $40 at the gate, that includes a keepsake festival glass and five tasting tickets. Free entry for non-drinkers. From midday to 6pm, 87 Ilam Rd, Ilam.
