All I want for Christmas . . .

-

Not only is the long grass along the Richardson Tce riverbank a disgraceful eyesore, its a safety hazard. It’s virtually impossible to walk by the riverside as safety barriers are covered by the long grass. I would like to challenge anyone to try and walk from the Opawa bridge to Ferry Rd without stepping out onto the road. Just watch out for speeding traffic. All attempts to have this rectified by the city council have fallen on deaf ears. We have had direct contact with local city councillors and sent dozens of emails, but still no results.

If I refused to pay rates, I would be penalised, but the city council refuses to take responsibility for riverbank maintenance. So, all I want for Christmas is to have the riverbank grass trimmed. Not much to ask for is it, Santa? Oh whoops, that was on the list this time last year, too. Oh dear, still waiting.
