Impressive double-bill
The Arts Centre’s summer season of outdoor cinema continues tonight with a double bill of Moana (PG, 6pm) and Hunt For the Wilder people (PG, 8pm). The event will be held in the centre’s recently restored North Quad. Food and beverages will be available to buy, and audiences should bring something to sit on. Salmonella Dub clocks up 25
Legends of the New Zealand music scene Salmonella Dub will bring their silver jubilee celebrations to North Hagley Park tomorrow afternoon. As well as welcoming back Tiki Taane, the Love Your Ways band will be joined by Fat Freddy’s Drop, Ladi6 and others. A celebration of cricket
The world’s best young cricketers’ skills will be on display over the next few weeks. The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup begins tomorrow at Lincoln, Rangiora and the central city’s Hagley Oval (games are also being played in Mt Maunganui, Queenstown and Whangarei. This is the third time in it’s 12-year history that the limited-over tournament has been held in New Zealand. The West Indies are the defending champions, while the hosts of the 16-strong tournament play their second pool match, against Kenya, at Hagley Oval on Wednesday from 10.30am. Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Summer series
A summer 10km walk/run series kicks off at New Brighton’s North Beach at 8am on Sunday. Designed to showcase different parts of the city, the four-event programme also takes in Hagley Park (February 4), Christchurch Adventure Park (February 18) and central Christchurch (March 11). Court offering plenty of Puff
Former What Now presenter Bianca Seinafo is part of the cast performing in The Court Theatre’s Puff the Magic Dragon from next Wednesday. She joins Monique Clementson, Sophie Petersen and Albany Paseta in bringing to life Christchurch writer Carl Nixon’s take on the much-loved tale, immortalised in Peter, Paul and Mary’s 1963 song. Directed by Elise Edgerton-Til, this adventure promises to ‘‘mix comedy, acting and fun to create an entertaining romp for all ages’’. Kidz Theatre
Godlisnowerellahood is the latest production from Elmwood Players’ Kidz Theatre. Billed as a ‘‘quirky story adapted from many favourite children’s tales’’, Bronwyn Elsmore’s play is directed by Libby Wilson and Shanice Adair. 1970s supergroup
A supergroup featuring members of iconic 1970s bands Foreigner and Bad Company will perform at Woolston’s Blue Smoke on Thursday night. The buskers are back
The 24th edition of Christchurch’s annual World Buskers Festival begins next Thursday. More than 650 shows will be performed by up to 60 artists at various venues until January 28. The opening day line-up includes The Topp Twins, Card Ninja, Ali McGregor, Rubberband Boy, Oliver Copperbottom, Jarred Fell, Urzila Carlson, Butt Kapinski and America’s Got Talent finalist Tape Face.
