AT A GLANCE
Highest reserve prices for overseas players at the Indian Premier League auction, scheduled for January 27-28:
Corey Anderson, Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Pat Cummins, James Faulkner, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Johnson, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Starc, Cameron White (Australia), Eoin Morgan, Liam Plunkett, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes (England), Quinton de Kock, Colin Ingram (South Africa), Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka), Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard (West Indies).
The only morsel in the IPL’s release was confirmation that Williamson, Colin Munro and Tom Latham had entered the auction.
Munro played in the 2016 IPL but wasn’t picked up at last year’s auction.
On current form, after becoming the first man to score three T20 international centuries with a whirlwind 47-ball effort against West Indies in Tauranga, the lefthander is sure to be sought after and his price could skyrocket.
Munro and legspinner Ish Sodhi – seeking his first IPL contract – were named the world’s top batsman and bowler in T20 internationals after the West Indies sweep.
Another in the running for his first IPL contract is wicketkeeper/ batsman Glenn Phillips after cutting his teeth in the Caribbean Premier League and impressing for the T20 side in Nelson.
Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, who made an impressive IPL debut for Pune last year, and allrounder Colin de Grandhomme should also be sought after.
