Superb quality of life in retirement village

I read with interest the article written by Rosemary McLeod

Mar 1). What a load of rubbish. I have been a resident in a Ryman village for just over four years and invite both you and Ms McLeod to call on me so I can show you what a wonderful provider Ryman is and our wonderful Club Med-type village at Diana Isaac.

I have a lovely townhouse which is very spacious for myself and little dog, wonderful neighbours, plenty of friends among the other residents and I lead a busy life. I work one day a week as a secretary in the city, attend village gym four mornings, tai chi one morning, go to the village movie theatre, swim in the pool, relax in the spa, enjoy the books in the library, attend all the seminars and functions, go to fine dining and the list goes on.

Our rest home, hospital and dementia units are second to none – the residents are kept fully entertained and occupied, the care they receive from our wonderful staff is amazing and the meals are delicious.

I would love to prove Rosemary very much mistaken. I loved my home, but the best decision I ever made, other than having my two children, was to become a Ryman village resident. When the time comes for me to move into either the rest home, hospital or dementia units, my family will have peace of mind that I am well cared for and continue to lead a happy life.
