ALLBIRDS TREE RUNNER SNEAKERS

I was surprised at just how successful Allbirds’ first shoe releases sold worldwide. A simple, eco-friendly wool runner, meant for casual wear? I thought the take-up would be widespread but slow. How wrong I was. The shoes are hugely popular among tech millionaires, fashion influencers and comfort hounds alike. Allbirds is breaking further ground with its two new styles ($160) developed internally and made from eucalyptus tree pulp. The fibre and weave give a lighter and stretchier upper than the wool shoes, with two choices of style. On closer inspection, the eco credentials are excellent too – they’re born of a closed circle production process which has been audited and certified.
