Mike Greer sells prefab stake
Christchurch-based Spanbild Holdings will take full ownership of building-panel factory Concision at Rolleston when it buys out the half-share owned by Mike Greer Homes.
Spanbild chairman Don Elder confirmed the company has taken over ownership and operation of the factory, which employs 48 staff.
He said Mike Greer Homes would continue be one of Concision’s customers.
Spanbild and Mike Greer Homes set up Concision as a joint venture in 2015 to provide highvolume, prefabricated panels for their residential housing and commercial businesses.
Elder said Concision had supported the rapid construction of about 500 houses, multi-unit dwellings, schools and other commercial buildings and had a growing pipeline of demand.

But once we get to supply orders of 100 houses, each with its own different cladding or landscaping features, we estimate the cost can come down more than 20 per cent.’’
Elder said some early quality issues were resolved in the first few weeks of operation when the company realised it had to think more like a manufacturer.
The best results were when builders and homeowners planned to use the panel system from the early consenting and design phase.
Spanbild will integrated its operations and maximise synergies with its five manufacturing plants and building work in New Zealand and Australia.
Elder said it was possible to supply prefabricated panels to anywhere in New Zealand and had
