Houston find lift-off

-

James Harden got what he wanted in game two of the Western Conference Finals, as Houston tied their series with Golden State.

Harden, the MVP favourite, called out his Rockets team mates after a game one loss to the Golden State Warriors, saying he couldn’t beat them by himself.

Message received. Eric Gordon scored 27 points off the bench, including six-from-nine from three-point range, as PJ Tucker and Trevor Ariza poured in 22 and 19 respectively to give the Rockets lift off.

The home side won the game 127-105, with Harden himself scoring 27 on an iffy shooting performance landing just three of 15 shots from behind the arc. Only two Warriors players made double figures as Kevin Durant scored 38 and Steph Curry had 16.

The series now moves to San Francisco, where the Warriors will hope to defend home court and take a step closer to the NBA finals.

The winner of the Western Conference Finals will progress to play either the Boston Celtics or the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals. Boston leads the series 2-0 heading to Cleveland.
