Climate change

The Press - - Opinion -

This week the IPCC released a special report which says we are already seeing the consequences of 1°C of global warming through more extreme weather, rising sea levels, diminishing Arctic sea ice etc.

Limiting warming to 1.5ºC is possible but would require unprecedented change in society. Some people may read this and say ‘‘what’s the point, let’s give up’’. I say there are numerous measures we could all take right now as individuals to do our bit: downsizing our car, flying less, plant trees, eat less meat.

The difference between doing nothing and doing something could be the difference between 1 billion or 2 billion climate refugees.
