Library signage

The Press - - Opinion -

In explaining the name of the new central library, the Christchurch City Council Head of Libraries and Information says the words ‘‘Central Library’’ will be ‘‘added to both of the wayfinding totems located close to the entrances’’. Isn’t it odd to use such a significant word (totem) from a third language and culture to describe our wayfinding signpost here?
