Twin quakes rat­tle Bali and PNG

At least three peo­ple have been killed and four in­jured af­ter a pow­er­ful earth­quake struck near the pop­u­lar tourist is­land of Bali. The mag­ni­tude 6.0 quake struck at 7.44am lo­cal time yes­ter­day at a depth of 9km. Su­topo Purwo Nu­groho, a spokesman for In­done­sia’s dis­as­ter agency BNPB, wrote on Twit­ter that sev­eral houses were also dam­aged in the earth­quake that shook Bali and East Java. The quake oc­curred a few hours be­fore a mag­ni­tude 7.0 earth­quake struck Pa­pua New Guinea.
