Hyphenated names
I enjoy reading Joe Bennett’s column very much.
He, having been brought up in England, did apparently not strike double-barrelled surnames.
In Wales it is a different story, Dafydd Lloyd-George, World War I prime minister, being perhaps the most famous, and politician and Secretary for Wales Sir David Maxwell-Fyffe being another.
In North Wales I had childhood friends called variously: Anne Watkin-Jones,
