Man in­jured in crash in rain

A 62-year-old man is in hos­pi­tal with mod­er­ate in­juries af­ter crash­ing a Lime scooter in cen­tral Christchurch. St John spokesman Ger­ard Camp­bell said an am­bu­lance was called to the in­ter­sec­tion of Worces­ter St and Cathe­dral Square about 8.30am yes­ter­day. He was taken to Christchurch Hos­pi­tal in a mod­er­ate con­di­tion. Sev­eral passersby stopped to help the man in the rain. A Can­ter­bury District Health Board spokesman said the man had mi­nor head in­juries, but was in a sta­ble con­di­tion. Lime scoot­ers have been on Christchurch and Auck­land streets since Oc­to­ber 15. The num­ber of ACC claims re­lated to Lime scoot­ers in the two cities reached 66 by Novem­ber 2.
