Cycle, scooter safety

The Press - - Opinion -

A safety suggestion: with cycles and scooters sharing footpaths, perhaps they could be equipped with horns or bells? These could then be sounded to warn pedestrians when approaching them from behind.

This will prevent momentary shock to elderly people and also any collision should those on foot suddenly move into the path of these other wise silent riders who whizz past at high speed.
