Cafe delights with positive message

-

Acalm oasis hidden away from the hustle of city life, Untouched World Kitchen encapsulates the values of the Untouched World brand: quality, simplicity, innovation and sustainability.

Marking 21 years in business with a name change and a light, airy new fit-out, Untouched World Kitchen boasts a clean, contemporary look to match their passionate commitment to creating dishes that are both wholesome and delicious.

The cafe team works closely with boutique suppliers to source the freshest, seasonal ingredients they can find, transforming them into stunning dishes that delight the palate and the eye.

From activated charcoal toast with avocado, poached egg, homemade queso fresco, pumpkin pickle and beetroot miso, to slow-cooked sweet and spicy barbecue brisket, accompanied with tangy chimichurri sauce and a fresh salad of watermelon, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds and creamy feta cheese, the menu offers something for everyone.

On a sunny day, dining al fresco in the garden is hard to beat, and when it’s cooler, guests can cosy up on the couch by the fire and enjoy a coffee and a delectable treat, such as their delicious refined sugar free raw raspberry dark chocolate slice or a tangy lemon cheesecake.

Everything at Untouched World Kitchen is made fresh onsite, with gluten-free, dairyfree and vegan options being regularly updated with the seasons.

Fully licensed, diners can enjoy a beer, wine or cocktail with brunch or lunch, as well as great coffee and a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

Free wi-fi is available and the Untouched World Kitchen team are happy to chat about catering options and private functions.

The cafe itself is something of an unlikely destination. Located just five minutes from Christchurch airport, it sits alongside the Untouched World flagship store, head office and workrooms, where just through the wall Untouched World’s designers are busy working on upcoming collections, while garment engineers lovingly craft luxurious pieces of knitwear and sustainable fashion.

So, while there might be a big block wall fronting the compound on Roydvale Ave, what lies behind it is a modern, inspiring cafe and retail space that supports the company’s wider vision of bringing positive change to the world.

Key to that approach is sustainability. This is reflected in the way the cafe seeks out local suppliers who share their values, right down to encouraging customers to make use of used coffee grounds in their gardens at home.

Through the B1G1 (buy one, give one) movement, Untouched World Kitchen helps supply families in Ethiopia with clean drinking water, with each coffee sold. In addition, a percentage of all sales goes to funding the Untouched World Foundation, which runs UN-recognised ‘‘Leadership for a Sustainable Future’’ programmes for young people.

If you’re looking for a cafe´ with a modern, relaxed environment, amazing food, friendly service and a ‘‘pay it forward’’ philosophy, then this hidden gem has it all.
