Person had fake gun

A Christchurch school went into lockdown after a person was seen with a fake gun nearby. St Thomas of Canterbury College in Middlepark Rd in Sockburn went into lockdown after seeing the person present what appeared to be a firearm to another person about 8.30am yesterday. Police were called but it was found to be an imitation gun. The lockdown was lifted later yesterday morning. Police said a person had been arrested for possession of an imitation firearm. Details on any charges they faced were not yet available.
