Kjole brings Danish style to local fashion scene

-

Kjole brings Scandinavian fashion to Hanmer Springs in the latest sign of the alpine village’s emergence as a boutique retail destination.

Mother and daughter duo Stephanie and Penny Suckling opened the store in December 2017 in the town’s new Boulder Point Retail Precinct.

The pair import the clothing from Denmark, describing it as ‘‘value for money and luxury for less’’.

Stephanie was introduced to the clothing range and was so impressed by the quality, comfort and style she was eager to share

‘‘I worked in fashion leading up to starting this business and it seemed like a natural progression,’’ she says. ‘‘The connection was established 20 years ago when we employed a young Danish man whose brother is part-owner of the Danish clothing company and he offered us the opportunity to introduce the range to New Zealand.

‘‘The fabrics have a soft, comfortable feel, with clean, contemporary lines and a focus on less is more. The range is great for women looking for something a
