Alan and Sally settled in Hanmer Springs as the next phase in their long career in tourism. They have previously operated a travel agency, conference and events businesses and a coach tour company. Sally also comes from a tourism background as a purser for Air New Zealand. Jointly they ran a gift shop and cafe.
